Payout policy
Where prize money sits before a tournament opens, when it moves, what gets deducted, and what happens when something goes wrong on the way to your account.
1. Money is held before entries open
Every prize pool is funded into escrow before a tournament appears on the site. A tournament cannot go live on a host's promise to pay later, and the host cannot withdraw the pool once entries have opened.
This is the single most important line in this policy. It means the risk you take by entering is that you might not win — not that the prize might not be real.
2. How prizes are split
The split is set by the host at setup and published on the tournament page before anyone enters. It cannot change once entries open. A typical split across a pool looks like this:
| Position | Share of a ₹75,000 pool |
|---|---|
| 1st | ₹30,000 |
| 2nd | ₹15,000 |
| 3rd | ₹9,000 |
| 4th – 5th | ₹4,000 each |
| 6th – 10th | ₹2,000 each |
| 11th – 20th | ₹300 each |
Some tournaments require a minimum level of participation to qualify for a prize position — for example a minimum number of ratings. Where that applies it is stated in the tournament's rules, and an entry below the threshold is marked unqualified and the prize passes down.
3. The 48-hour lock
When judging ends, standings do not become final immediately. There is a 48-hour window in which:
- Flagged votes and watch sessions are stripped and every affected score is recalculated.
- Entrants can raise disputes about manipulation, rejection or scoring.
- The number of removed votes is published on the results page.
- Standings may still change as a result of any of the above.
Nothing is paid during this window. When it closes, standings are final and payouts begin.
4. Payout timeline
| Stage | Timing |
|---|---|
| Judging ends | Day 0 |
| Fraud sweep and disputes | Day 0 to day 2 |
| Standings lock, results published | Day 2 |
| Payout initiated | Day 2, usually the same day |
| Money reaches your account | Day 2 to day 4, depending on your bank |
Bank processing time is outside our control. We initiate within 48 hours of the lock in every case.
5. Payout details
- Prizes are paid only to the verified account holder. They cannot be redirected to a third party, a company, or another person's account.
- You do not need payout details to enter. You need them before the standings lock for the money to move on time.
- The name on your payout details must match the verified account. A mismatch stops the transfer.
- Prizes are paid in Indian rupees unless a tournament states otherwise.
- You can add or change payout details from your wallet and profile settings at any time.
6. Tax
Indian tax law requires tax to be deducted at source on winnings from competitions above a statutory threshold. Where this applies:
- We deduct the required amount before transferring the balance to you.
- We pay it to the government against your tax identifier.
- We issue you a deduction certificate for your records.
- You may be asked for a tax identifier before a prize above the threshold can be released.
7. When a payout fails
Transfers fail for ordinary reasons: a closed account, a name mismatch, an incorrect code. When one does:
- We notify you on your account and by your registered contact method.
- The prize is held for 90 days while you correct the details. Nothing is forfeited during this period.
- We retry automatically once details are updated.
- After 90 days without valid details, the prize returns to the host. We will have contacted you at least three times before this happens.
8. Disqualified winners
If a winning entry is disqualified before payout — for plagiarism, organised vote manipulation, a duplicate account or a breach of the tournament's rules — the prize is not absorbed by the platform or returned to the host. It passes to the next qualifying entry, and the standings are republished showing the change and the reason.
Where fraud is established after a prize has already been paid, we pursue recovery and the account is closed. Entries below the disqualified one are not retrospectively re-paid unless recovery succeeds.
An entrant is not disqualified for votes cast on their behalf by other people without their involvement. Those votes are removed and the entry is re-scored.
9. Cancelled tournaments
| When | What happens |
|---|---|
| Cancelled before entries open | Escrow is returned to the host in full. Nobody is affected. |
| Cancelled after entries open, before judging | Any entry fees are refunded in full. The prize pool is distributed equally among all approved entrants. |
| Cancelled during judging | The tournament is settled on the standings at the point of cancellation, using the published formula. |
| Too few entries to run | Stated in the tournament's rules where a minimum applies. Entry fees refunded; the pool returns to the host. |
A host cannot cancel a tournament to avoid an outcome they dislike. Cancellation after entries open requires our agreement and the reason is published on the tournament page.
10. Fees
- No commission on prizes. The prize shown is the prize transferred, before statutory deduction.
- No payout processing fee charged to winners.
- Entry fees, where a tournament has one, are shown before you commit and refunded in full if your entry is rejected at review.
- Host fees are a percentage of the prize pool, paid by the host and quoted before escrow is funded. They never come out of a winner's prize.
11. Disputes
Raise a payout dispute from your account or at payouts@jutugo.com. We acknowledge within 72 hours and resolve within 30 days.
- Scoring disputes belong in the 48-hour window before the lock. Once standings are final they cannot be reopened except where fraud is established.
- Payment disputes — wrong amount, missing transfer, incorrect deduction — can be raised at any time and we will produce the calculation and the transfer record.
- Disputes with a host about the conduct of a tournament come to us first. Where a host breached the rules and the result was affected, we say so publicly on the results page.
