Child safety policy

The principle

A public gallery where strangers rate photographs of children is a bad idea regardless of how carefully it is run. So we did not build one.

The kids tournaments on JutuGo are skill contests. The Kids Drawing Contest judges a drawing. The Kids Talent Contest judges a performance. In both cases a child's appearance is not what is being scored, and in the drawing contest the child does not appear at all. Everything below follows from that.

Where this applies

This policy governs the Kids Talent Contest and the Kids Drawing Contest, and any future tournament that permits entries involving anyone under 18.

Every other tournament on JutuGo is 18 and over. Entries to those tournaments that show a child are rejected at review, and an adult entry showing a child in the background is rejected too unless the child is unidentifiable.

No child accounts

• JutuGo accounts require you to be 18 or over. There is no under-18 account type and no plan to add one.
• Kids tournaments are entered, managed and withdrawn entirely from a parent or guardian's verified adult account.
• A child has no login, no profile, no inbox and no way to be contacted through the platform, because they have no presence on it.
• Accounts found to belong to someone under 18 are closed, and any entries from them removed.

Guardian consent

At upload, the guardian confirms and we record:

1. That they are the parent or legal guardian of the child in the entry.
2. That they consent to the entry being displayed publicly on jutugo.com for the round and 30 days after.
3. That they have explained it to the child and the child is willing.
4. That they understand they can withdraw at any time, for any reason or none.

Consent is recorded with a timestamp against the guardian's verified account. It is not buried in a terms checkbox — it is a separate step with its own screen.

What is shown publicly

Drawing entries show the artwork alone. Photographs of the child holding the drawing are rejected at review and the guardian is asked to re-upload a picture of the work.

What never happens

• ×No external social sharing. Kids entries are never posted to Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube or anywhere else, including winners, and no opt-in to the contrary is offered. This is the one place where a guardian cannot consent their way out, because we cannot control distribution once material leaves our site.
• ×No comments and no direct messages. Both are disabled on every kids entry. There is no mechanism through which a stranger can send text to a child's entry or its guardian.
• ×No algorithmic promotion. Kids entries never appear in trending, recommended or "most viewed" surfaces anywhere on the platform.
• ×No downloads. Right-click saving is blocked and entries are served with anti-indexing headers so search engines do not cache them.
• ×No profiling and no marketing. We never use a child's data for advertising, recommendations or behavioural analysis.
• ×No appearance-based tournaments involving children. Ever. Not cutest, not best smile, not best dressed.

Voting on kids entries

• Verified accounts only. Unverified visitors can view a kids gallery but cannot interact with it at all.
• Accounts created after the tournament opened carry reduced weight, which removes most of the value of creating an account to reach these entries.
• Ratings only, no downvotes. Kids tournaments run on star rating. There is no mechanism to register disapproval of a child's work.
• No public vote counts per entry during the round, so no child watches their entry being out-voted in real time.
• Voting patterns on kids entries are monitored more tightly than elsewhere, and accounts whose activity concentrates on kids tournaments are reviewed manually.

Review and moderation

• Every kids entry is reviewed by a trained human before publication. No kids entry is ever auto-approved.
• Reviewers check for identifying details, unsafe settings, clothing or framing concerns, and anything the guardian may not have noticed in the background.
• Rejections err on the side of caution and come with a specific reason and an invitation to re-upload.
• Staff who review kids entries are background-checked and their access is logged.
• Approved entries are re-checked if a report is filed, and taken down while the report is open rather than after it is resolved.

Withdrawal

A guardian can withdraw a kids entry at any time, for any reason or none, from their dashboard. It disappears from public view immediately, not at the end of a review process.

• Withdrawal works before, during and after the tournament, including after results are published.
• If a withdrawn entry had won a prize, the prize is still paid. Withdrawing does not cost the child anything.
• The underlying file is deleted within 7 days, not archived.
• No reason is requested and no retention offer is made.

Reporting

Anyone can report a kids entry from the entry itself, whether or not they hold an account. Reports can also be sent to safety@jutugo.com.

• Child safety reports jump every queue and are reviewed the same day, always by a person.
• The entry comes down while the report is open, not after a decision.
• Reports are confidential. The reporter is never identified to the guardian, the host or anyone else.
• You get an outcome, including when we find nothing.

Rules for hosts

Hosting a kids tournament carries conditions beyond the standard host rules.

• A host may not contact a guardian or a child outside the platform, for any reason.
• A host may not use kids entries in their own marketing, on social channels or anywhere else, even with the tournament's branding on them.
• A host may not request additional information about a child, including age, school or location.
• Kids tournament proposals are reviewed individually and appearance-based formats are declined outright.
• Breaching any of these ends hosting access permanently, not temporarily.

Legal obligations

We comply with applicable Indian law on the protection of children, including obligations to report material depicting child sexual exploitation to the relevant authorities. Content of that kind is reported and preserved as the law requires, and the account is closed permanently and immediately.

We cooperate with lawful requests from law enforcement in child protection matters and will not require a court order before acting where a child is at risk.
